Information on information security

In order to provide all staff with important tips on IT and information security, internal documentation has been created: https://confluence.unileoben.ac.at/x/6AmdC

Important: If you are not on the university network, you must first connect to the MUL VPN.

If you write down your passwords, don’t keep the note under your keyboard or on your screen!

Choose passwords

  • that are easy for you to remember,
  • consist of at least 8 characters,
  • do not include the names of people associated with you – your date of birth is also a bad choice!
  • and include a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters!

Change your passwords regularly (every 6 to 18 months is recommended)!

Never share your passwords!

Make sure your antivirus software has the latest virus definitions and keep your other programmes up to date too (BKuA computers are updated automatically)!

Users are responsible for backing up their own data. Back up your work and documents regularly! The network drive provided is backed up by ICT!
