PC equipment

Office communication and automation workstations (BKuA) are provided and maintained by ICT.

With the ICT standard workstation, you can choose between a desktop PC (Intel i5, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) or a comparable laptop (14", Intel i5, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) with a docking station. All devices offered by ICT come with 4 years of on-site support.

A power user is an academic IT user who, in addition to the standard BKuA IT components used by office users, runs a wide range of academic programmes on their workstation and has high demands on hardware, networking and clustering, including the use of expensive high-performance computers.

The hardware range extends from office user PCs to high-quality workstations and laptops.

  • Operating system: Microsoft Windows
  • The general ICT performance criteria apply to the hardware and software components similar to those of an Office User PC.
  • The installation and updating of specialised hardware and software components can only take place in close collaboration with the researcher (workstation owner).
  • The work must be planned and is not subject to short-term ad hoc requests.
