Internet access in student residences

The ICT department is responsible for Internet access via a network connection (LAN) for the following student residences in Leoben:

  • Collegium JACOBINUM
  • Collegium JOSEFINUM
  • greenbox LEOBEN
  • minerroom
  • WIST student residence
Requirements
  • You have your primary/secondary residence in the student residence.
  • You have an MUonline account or an MU account for external persons (can be requested by the university organization responsible for you).
Activation
  • Set your network adapter to DHCP so that the IP address is assigned automatically.
  • When you enter a URL, you will be redirected to the login page. Enter your MUonline login details there.
Terms of use

By using the Internet access in the student residence, you are participating in the Austrian academic computer networkACOnet and using the IT facilities and services of the ICT at the Montanuniversität Leoben.

By signing the application form, you declare that you accept and comply with the ACOnet Acceptable Use Policy (ACOnet-AUP) and the ICT's operating and usage regulations, in particular ACOnet-AUP §3 (Prohibited use of ACOnet) and ICT-BBO §9 (Rights and obligations of users).

In accordance with ACOnet-AUP §4 (Measures in case of violations) and ICT-BBO §18 (Contraventions), the ICT reserves the right to interrupt active network connections of a device and to block Internet access for the device or user until the end of the month if unauthorized use is detected.

In the event of a repeat offense, the user may be completely denied Internet access in the student residence.

The ICT also reserves the right to limit the network bandwidth provided for individual devices and users, or for the student residence as a whole, if this is necessary to maintain or restore orderly operation of student residence, ICT, or ACOnet services.
