How and where can I get a user account?

All students enrolled at MU-Leoben are entitled to a central account.

The account is created by the students themselves in the MUonline portalusing a PIN code and is only available to first-time enrolleesafter confirmation of payment of the tuition fees by the Federal Computing Center; this normally takes 1-2 weeks. You can obtain the PIN code from the Study Support Center.

With this account, each student is provided with daily backed-up storage space (currently 2 GB) on the student server. This is used to store emails, a personal homepage, and personal data. Access to this storage space is possible via FTP or network drive connection (only within the MUL network and via VPN).

  • Changing your password is only possible in the MUonline system.
  • Passwords must contain at least 6 characters.

  • When you first register with MUonline, you will automatically be assigned an email address. You can find this address on your business card in MUonline under ‘Account status’.
  • There you can also assign a preferred address under ‘Edit services’. In your own interest, please use your preferred address when communicating with people outside MUL. You can change this yourself at any time if you receive too many unwanted messages from mailing lists, newsletters, etc. over time.
