Microsoft Office 365 A3

Students enrolled at the Montanuniversität Leoben can obtain Microsoft Office 365 A3 for personal usefree of charge.

Microsoft Office 365 A3 includes the web versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, and Outlook, as well as the following desktop applications for PC and Mac:

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Microsoft OneNote
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Publisher (PC only)
  • Microsoft Access (PC only)

You also get 50 GB of OneDrive storage.

The Office desktop applications can be installed on up to five PCs or Macs. The Office apps can also be installed on up to 10 devices (5 tablets, 5 smartphones) per user.

Go to the website: https://www.microsoft.com/de-at/education/products/office. Enter your student email address in the “Enter your educational institution's email address” field. Then select “I'm a student”.

Note: Use the email address listed in MuOnline for registration. The use of an alias email address, a mail-in address, or a mailing list is not permitted. Such accounts will be blocked!

Account creation may fail with Firefox 104.0.x. Please use a different web browser instead.

Once you have entered your personal information and verified your student email address, the Office 365 account will be created.

You are now in the main view, where you can work with the web applications or download the desktop applications.

Your Office 365 account is valid for the duration of your studies at Montanuniversität. Once you graduate, your access to the account will expire, and the account will be deleted thereafter.

Microsoft 365 Apps are activatedautomatically when you run Microsoft 365 Apps for the first time and sign in with your M365 credentials. An internet connection is required for activation.

  • You must connect to the internet at least once every 30 days to check your subscription status.
  • If the device is offline for more than 30 days, Microsoft 365 Apps switches to limited functionality mode until you reconnect to the internet.
  • In limited functionality mode, Microsoft 365 Apps remains installed, but documents can only be viewed and printed. All functions for editing or creating new documents are disabled.

If you already have an Office 365 Education account linked to your student email address, you must still follow the same steps as when signing up for the first time, otherwise the license will not be assigned.
