Microsoft Campus Agreement
The Microsoft Campus Agreement is a rental license model that allows the Montanuniversität to use certain software free of charge.
The right of use is limited to work computers owned by the Montanuniversität Leoben.
The Microsoft Campus Agreement includes the following products:
- Windows 11 Education Upgrade
- Office LTSC 2021/2024 Professional Plus
- Core CAL Suite (Server Access Licenses)
Please note that a base operating system license (e.g., Windows OEM, Windows 10/11 Home) is required for the computer to use the Windows upgrade!

All other Microsoft products can be ordered for a fee via the CCDB [HCL Notes Call Center Database] or by email.

Once a network connection to the university network (wired network) has been established, Windows is activated via the ICT's activation server (KMS server).

Note:
If a different Windows 11 edition is already installed instead of Windows 11 Education, entering the product key will upgrade that edition to the Education edition.

Installation instructions:
First, extract the download, then open the Install.txt file in the extracted folder. The contents of the Install.txt file must now be pasted into an administrative PowerShell window and executed.

Installation instructions:
First, extract the download, then open the Install.txt file in the extracted folder. The contents of the Install.txt file must now be pasted into an administrative PowerShell window and executed.
After entering the respective product key, the computers attempt toautomatically activate themselves every two hours during the initial 30-day period. Once activated, KMS-activated computers must reconnect to the KMS server within 180 days to renew the activation. KMS-activated computers attempt this automatically every seven days.
The KMS server is accessible only via LAN within the university network. No activation via eduroam, VPN, or similar.
